Making Your French Pedicure and Manicure Last

After spending money on getting your nails done by a professional, it is but natural that you would want it to last. You don’t want to waste your money on having it redone as well waste time to another trip in the Salon just because you have a broken or chipped French manicure or pedicure. Although the pedicure or manicure will eventually wear off, there are some great ways to make it last.

Many are into the French pedicure because it does not only make your feet pretty but it also lasts longer than other types of polish. Lighter colored nail polish like the French Pedicure lasts longer as compared to darker color of polish. This is because the chipping and grow outs are not that obvious especially with a French Pedicure.

One of the neat tricks that you could do on pedicures to make it last longer is to brush an additional coat to at the base going outwards. Doing this will make your French Pedicure last longer for an additional week. It may not be pleasant to look at if you keep coloring only the grow outs so you might want to apply nail polish on the base as well. It is just like coloring the roots of your hair.

For a manicure to last, you need to use gloves when doing some house chores. This will protect not only your nails but also your hands from detergents that could cause allergy. You also have to be careful with your day to day activities like when you are popping a soda that could damage your manicure.

Don’t pick on your nails. This may sound odd but there are a lot of people who are fond of biting their nails as well as who are fond of messing up their nails if they have nothing to do. Try to avoid this bad habit, it is not only bad for your manicure or pedicure but it should be a mannerism that needs to be outgrown. This just gives damage to the overall health of your nails and nail beds. Plus think of the germs that you are getting when you’re biting your nails.

Off course normal practices such as being careful when trimming your nails still applies even if you have a French manicure. You could also buff your nails to shape it and to make it more appealing but don’t forget to be careful to avoid damaging the pedicure.

Lastly, know when to say it is enough and time to get a new pedicure. Sometimes your pedicure is beyond help already and this is the time that you should stop covering it up and get a new one. You might want to give your nails a break and leave it without any chemicals and try to go all natural for a week or so before getting a new pedicure.

Pampering you and making yourself pretty is a priority for the modern women. Sometimes however, it could take too much time that’s why it is better to find ways to make your pedicure and manicure last to save you some trouble.
